Who I am…

My name is Ana Bellinghausen and I’m a journalism major at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.

My very first local internship was with FITGirl Inc. as a marketing and social media intern. My first professional internship experience started with USA Curling in Dec. 2018 as a writer and reporter during the Curling World Cup. My current internship is with Omaha Sports Commission as their sports marketing intern. I’m able to be a part of all professional events that come to Omaha, Nebraska including the Olympic Swim Trials and Olympic Curling Trials!

As for more reporting experience, I have reported at multitude of sporting events from UNO athletics to the Capitol District Pole Vault, the College World Series, and even an NBA game in Denver, Colorado.

Beyond sports, I have interviewed many local and national artists including Futuristic, Gryffin, Vic Sage, Hoodie Allen and many more.

After college I hope to work with ESPN, FOX Sports, or any sports broadcasting outlet I can as a reporter/analyst.

This blog will feature sports figures with ties to my hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. Enjoy!

Even though he won't step on to the ice, 15-year-old Isaac Barchus signed with @OmahaHKY two years ago. Isaac suffers from CANDLE syndrome, a disease that affects few in the world.
